Tim Kash Insists: I Am Not The British Interviewer In Britney Spears’ ‘For The Record

The new Britney Spears documentary “For the Record” aired last week on MTV, and millions tuned in to get a read on the pop star’s condicition these days.

After all, for the last few years, it’s been impossible not to see the pictures and videos of Britney’s well documented downward spiral — the shaving of her head, the constant harassment by the paparazzi, her somewhat questionable associates, and of course the tragic night Britney was wheeled out of her house by paramedics in front of the world — so the film was really the first real inside look into the life of the world’s most famous pop star.

It was a really good documentary, but then again, how could it not be? The subject matter is, after all, the ever-controversial Britney Spears. The film started off with a brief written explanation that Britney had invited a camera crew to follow her for 60 days in which no question would be off-limits.

Personally. I wonder just how many hard-hitting questions were asked, but that’s a different conversation … which brings me to the point of this post.

This weekend, about six different people asked me if I was the guy with the British accent interviewing Britney in the documentary. (Many others have speculated that it might have been Martin Bashir, who conducted the controversial interview that did no favors for Michael Jackson a few years back.)

But, “for the record,” I am NOT the guy who interviewed Britney in “For the Record.” Not this time, anyway!'

Report: Britney Spears' First Husband in Jail

Britney may be trying to shed her bad-girl past, but it’s not easy when your ex-husbands continue to act out.

First, Kevin Federline said he was blindsided when she filed for divorce, and now Jason Alexander is locked up.
That’s right folks, her first husband of two days was sent to the slammer today for a probation violation stemming from a 2006 DUI best, E! Online is reporting.

According to E!, Alexander, 27, appeared in court today to explain why he skipped two trips to a local morgue that was part of his alcohol education program.

Alexander will now serve ten days in the Los Angeles county jail, E! said.

Britney Spears to perform in UK

LONDON (AP) — Pop singer Britney Spears is heading to London this week to perform live on "The X Factor" TV show.

She also is giving two concerts in London in June. A Spears' representative announced those concerts Wednesday and said they will be her only European stops on a world tour.

Spears is expected to sing "Womanizer" on television this Saturday. The popular single was recorded for a soon-to-be-releasd album.

Famous singers often coach "X Factor" contestants during the show, but the representative says Spears will only be performing — not coaching.

The British singing contest is similar to "American Idol" in the U.S.

Spears is now on a comeback from a two-year downward spiral that included a divorce, a custody battle and public meltdowns.

Britney Spears Doc Shows 'Where She Is And Where She Is Going,' Manager Larry Rudolph Says

Britney Spears' longtime manager Larry Rudolph has been by his client's side as she stages her comeback with the release of Circus and her documentary, "For the Record" (premiering on MTV November 30).

"I was very involved in putting [the film] together, so I saw the process," Rudolph told MTV News on Thursday night at a media preview of the film in Los Angeles. "It was a very interesting process. We made a deal from the very beginning — everybody sort of shook hands with the understanding that there were going to be no boundaries on this thing. We were going to make an open and honest film and that we weren't going to leave the good stuff on the cutting room floor.

"We went there with it," he added. "You see Britney in a light you're not used to seeing her in. She's intelligent, she's introspective, she's honest. By the end of the film you really understand who she is in a way that you just never imagined. ... It is so not a puff piece."

Rudolph, who is credited with shaping Britney's early career, wouldn't speak about how he and Spears reunited after a falling-out in 2007. At the time, many speculated that she fired him for encouraging her to enter rehab.

Focusing the conversation on the doc, Rudolph insisted that it shows everyone what he already knows about the singer: "She's got a unique set of talents. She's got a blend of certain talents. She's a great singer. She's a great dancer. She's got an amazing image. She's incredibly likable," he listed. "She's got this intangible thing that makes her a star."

"For the Record" is part of the game plan for reintroducing Britney, the pop star rather than the tabloid magnet, back to her fans, Rudolph said. The movie makes a case for Spears' future, by giving the audience "a good taste of the music and where she is and where she is going."

The next step in Brit's comeback is a video for the album's second single, "Circus," shot by "I'm a Slave 4 U" director Francis Lawrence, set to debut around the release of the album on December 2. "It is amazing," Rudolph said. "The video is extraordinary. It is really, really good."

Although Blackout came out only a year ago, Rudolph said that this was an organically right time for her to put out new music again. "It wasn't that there was a rush," he explained. "The album got completed on its natural timetable. And it just was the right time to put it out. So we decided to put it out on her birthday and make it a birthday present to her and to the world."

Britney Spears Pokes Fun at Her Father

It's Britney Spears like you have never seen her before, as the pop star turns comedienne to deliver what appears to be a dead-on impression of her cell phone-addicted pop, Jamie, in between takes of her recent video for "Womanizer" (hence her being costumed as a sexy secretary).

This candid moment comes from Britney: For the Record, a documentary airing Sunday, Nov. 30, at 10 pm/ET, exclusively on MTV.

"I wanted to make this film because I started to feel like I wasn't being seen in the light that I wanted to be seen in," Spears has said of her involvement in the exposé. "This is an opportunity to set the record straight and talk about what I've been through and where I'm headed."

The 90- minute, all-access look at Spears' world includes behind-the-scenes looks at Britney recording her new album, Circus, preparing for her appearance at this year's MTV Video Music Awards, and much more.

Madonna + Britney + Justin = Sadness

I am decidedly depressed by the news that Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears are both slated to appear during tonight's Los Angeles stop on Madonna's "Sticky & Sweet" tour.

I know, I know…back in March, I blogged about how, for the first time in Madge's career, I was unexcited about one of her album releases. After all, Madonna's always been at her best when she's latched on to a slightly underground trend, co-opted it as her own, and foisted it onto an unsuspecting mainstream audience (think: vogueing, electronica, Mirwais). Madonna's sudden reliance on Timberlake, Timbaland, and Kanye West to make 2008's Hard Candy a sales success was tantamount to her nervously carrying her lunch tray into the pop-culture cafeteria and trying to score a seat with the cool kids when, really, she should've been sitting down at an empty table and confidently forming her own damn posse. And sure enough, seven months after its release, Hard Candy is barely on my radar, except for those occasions when the admittedly excellent "Beat Goes On" pops up on my cardio playlist.

Which makes tonight's recruitment of Spears even more distressing. Madonna and Britney's previous collaborations -- the faux-lesbian smooch on MTV, the abhorrent "Me Against the Music" -- did little to boost either singer's fortunes. And (hello!) why would you think that fans shelling out hundreds of bucks for a ticket would be excited to have a notorious lip-syncher added to the bill?

What think you, PopWatchers? Am I crazy for expecting Madge to still be setting trends at this stage of her career? And if she really has reached the "follow the leader" stage of her career, could it be time for her to (blasphemy alert) follow Celine Dion and Cher's leads, and get herself a residency in Vegas? Share your thoughts in the comments section below!

Life's a Witch for Britney Spears at Barrymore Bash

Britney Spears spent Halloween with Drew Barrymore.

Dressed as a witch (black dress, black hat and long black wig!), the comeback pop-star princess was one of an estimated 200 or so guests at a costume party at Barrymore's L.A.-area home on Friday night.

While Spears spent mucho time dancing at the bash, she got unexpectedly bashful and pulled her witch's hat down when the DJ played her hit "Toxic."

Also at the party, Drew's BFF Cameron Diaz...

I'm told Spears and Diaz both recognized one guy's costume right away—he was dressed as their ex Justin Timberlake's very tattooed character from the movie Alpha Dog.

As for Diaz, one partygoer reported, "I think she was a flight attendant. It was hard to tell."

Natalie Portman was Little Red Riding Hood. "T.R. Knight was a little devil thing," my source says. Amanda Bynes went as an ancient Egyptian, Liv Tyler as Charlie Chaplin, Ricki Lake also as a devil, Justine Bateman dressed as an Indian princess, and one of the Olsen twins was a geisha girl, while Chris Kattan was Luke Skywalker.

As for Barrymore, she was Melanie Daniels, Tippi Hedren's character from the Alfred Hitchcock horror classic, The Birds.

Anne Hathaway appeared to put the final nail in her relationship with jailbird ex-fiancé Raffaello Follieri by going to the party as a corpse bride.

Britney Spears' 'Good Morning America' Performance Ad

Britney Spears will play her new songs from forthcoming 'Circus' LP on ABC's 'Good Morning America' on her 27th birthday, December 2.

Britney Spears' 27th birthday will be marked by the release of her sixth major studio album "Circus" and a performance on ABC's "Good Morning America". On a half-minute commercial promo, the "Womanizer" singer says, "Well, of course, on 'Good Morning America'" when asked where she is going to celebrate her forthcoming birthday.

Promising it to be "the biggest birthday bash to hit morning TV", Spears will be performing tracks from her upcoming album at the Big Apple's Bryant Park for the TV show on December 2. Holding a birthday cake on her hands, the Jive Records' artist gives message to her fans saying, "C'mon blow the candle with me."

Previously, Spears has also posted a couple of photos showing her rehearsal for upcoming world tour. In one of the pictures, she is seen working on new dance moves with a whip. While her world tour dates are yet to be announced, a tentative schedule for her 2009 U.S. tour has been unveiled through a promotional packet of "Circus".

Britney Trial Passes Another Roadblock

OK, lawyers. Britney Spears has to face the music, you hear?

A three-judge panel has refused to throw out a year-old misdemeanor charge against the popster for driving with an invalid license, a case that's finally scheduled to go to trial Oct. 15 after months of legal wrangling on Spears' behalf.

No explanation was given in the one-page ruling, but the decision was unanimous. A pretrial hearing is set for Wednesday.

Spears' attorney Michael Flanagan filed a 51-page motion in Los Angeles Superior Court Sept. 29 to "immediately stay all proceedings" with the hope that the appellate judges would move to dismiss the charge, which Flanagan has disputed as an example of Spears' celebrity being used against her.

Britney Spears has 2 men on the go

Britney Spears is back in contact with her ex-boyfriend Adnan Ghalib – as well as spending time with her agent Jason Trawick. Dad Jamie, who lives with 26-year-old Brit, refuses to allow former paparazzi Adnan, 36, in the house. But the pair have been texting each other virtually every day for the past month.

In one message Britney declares that she’s still in love with him and can’t ‘wait to be on her own’ and have her dad out of her life.
But Jamie, 59, is pushing his daughter towards another man – her agent Jason Trawick. The pair were spotted together on 4 July enjoying an Independence Day date on a yacht at LA’s chic Marina Del Rey.

‘Jason’s been by Brit’s side for over 2 years,’ says a source. ‘But while Jamie may portray them as boyfriend and girlfriend, it’s just not happening. Adnan’s the one she loves.’

Britney Spears' custody dispute hearing rescheduled

July 14, 2008 (Sawf News) - A hearing in Britney Spears' child custody dispute with ex Kevin Federline, scheduled for Tuesday, July 15, has been postponed to Friday, July 18, possibly indicating a renewed attempt by lawyers to reach an out-of-court settlement. Spears had primary custody of her two children with Federline, Sean Preston, born September 14, 2005, and Jayden James, born September 12, 2006, under a 50/50 custody arrangement, which was part of the divorce settlement reached by the couple in July, 2007.

However, she lost physical custody to Federline on October 1, 2007, after he went to court in September over her increasingly erratic lifestyle and substance abuse.
Britney's overnight visitation privileges with her kids were suspended on January 2, 2008, after she refused to return them to Kevin's custody following a scheduled visitation on January 2. A stand off with the police ensued after which Britney was forcibly hospitalized at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. The police stand off also resulted in Britney being placed under a conservatorship because of mental health issues.

LA County Superior Court Commissioner Scott Gordon, who is presiding over Britney Spears' child custody dispute with ex Kevin Federline, granted the now recovering pop star overnight visitation privileges with her two toddlers on Tuesday, June 24.
Britney's lawyer in the custody dispute, Laura Wasser, probably understands that Britney stands to gain more from an out-of-court settlement since she is under a conservatorship which would constrain the court's ability to restore her primary custody privileges.

Britney Spears to film footage for Madonna

NEW YORK (AP) — Madonna has recruited Britney Spears for a virtual appearance on her upcoming tour. "There is footage being shot of Britney some time this week in conjunction with Madonna's upcoming (Sticky & Sweet) tour," Madonna's publicist, Liz Rosenberg, said in an e-mail Tuesday to The Associated Press. "That is all the information I have available. The rest is `a secret.'" Rosenberg denied reports that Spears, 26, is shooting a music video.

Madonna guest starred in a music video for Spears' single "Me Against the Music" in 2003. The singers stirred up controversy that year with an open-mouth kiss at the MTV Video Music Awards.
Madonna, 49, will kick off her tour Aug. 23 in Cardiff, Wales, and wind through European destinations including London and Paris before jumping to the U.S. in October.

Britney Spears' book upset

U.S. singer Britney Spears watches the Houston Rockets play the Los Angeles Lakers during their NBA basketball game in Los Angeles, in this March 30, 2007 file photo. A Los Angeles judge questionedBritney Spears and a parenting coach on June 24, 2008 during a hearing into the pop star's child custody case before ordering a change to her visitation status with her two sons.

Britney Spears is furious over her mother's plan to release a book about her. The 'Toxic' singer is reportedly so angry with her mother Lynne Spears' decision to publish the tome - which details both Britney and her sister Jamie Lynn's showbiz lives - she refuses to be in the same room as her.

The disagreement is said to be so severe Britney initially refused to be present when her younger sister Jamie Lynn gave birth earlier this month because she didn't want to see Lynne.

A source said: "Britney was so upset and angry with her mom that at first she refused to be at the birth. She couldn't bear to be in the same room as her. "But when Jamie Lynn found out that Britney might not be in there, she got really frightened and couldn't stop crying.

She begged her sister to reconsider, and at the last minute Britney agreed to come." Britney is so desperate to stop Lynne publishing her memoirs she has even reportedly tried to bribe her.

The source added to Britain's Closer magazine: "Britney feels that just as she is moving forward, her mom is dragging her back. She'd even offered to pay her mom the equivalent of the book money to keep her quiet."

Britney Spears' airport attack

Britney Spears almost burst into tears on Friday after a clash between her bodyguard and a photographer turned ugly. The Gimme More singer was greeted at LAX Airport by a huge crowd of paparazzi as she arrived back in California following her brief trip to Louisiana to help her sister Jamie Lynn give birth. More than thirty snappers swarmed around her vehicle as she attempted to make her getaway outside the arrivals terminal. The media scrum soon turned aggressive and her bodyguard was forced to step in to keep the photographers at bay, as a clearly upset Spears kept her head down.

However, a fight nearly broke out when the bodyguard pushed a camera into a snapper's face, according to Airport Police Sergeant Jim Holcomb. Meanwhile, the biographer who tricked Britney into thinking he was a photographer has revealed that Britney thinks she will die in the next six months. Amid all the claims of drug abuse, bipolar problems and suicidal tendencies, Ian Halperin states Spears told him personally she fears she will die at 27. The biographer, who ironically penned a book about Kurt Cobain - who lost his life at 27, tells Life & Style magazine, "She told me she feared she'd die at age 27 (her current age), just like other music stars, like Janis Joplin and Kurt Cobain."

Joplin and Cobain aren't the only members of the sinister 27 Club - rock greats Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison and Brian Jones all perished before their 28th birthday.

Britney Spears Suicide Attempts 'Exposed' In New Book

Britney Spears twice attempted to kill herself, according to a new book about the troubled star. Journalist Ian Halperin has penned a 'tell-all' expose after spending 18 months as an undercover paparazzo trying to get close to the troubled singer. "The suicide attempts are true. I know all the details about both of them," he tells Life & Style.

A Spears family insider supports Halperin's claims, confirming that Britney threatened suicide many times during the time Halperin was investigating her - from November 2006 until last month.

BRITNEY SPEARS ACTS LIKE A DIVA

It looks like Britney Spears has taken a leaf out of Mariah Carey’s diva handbook. The troubled singer angered fellow gym goers after she kicked them out of a room she wanted to work out in. Britney wanted to work up a sweat in private at Bally gym in Los Angeles in her bid to whip back into shape.

But when Brit arrived for her private sesh, an aerobics class was already in session after one muppet at the gym doubled booked the space.
The other fitness freaks were given the boot and were offered free T-shirts and water bottles and access to other programs at the gym to keep them happy after the embarrassing gaffe.

Bally’s Chief Marketing Officer John Wildman admitted someone at the gym double booked the room and told TMZ ‘it will never happen again.’
It better not. Let the pop wreck work out in peace!

Britney's bikini holiday with Mel Gibson (+pics)

The Toxic singer and her father Jamie headed to Costa Rica with Mel and his wife Robyn. The quartet are reportedly staying at the Braveheart actor’s holiday home in the South American country and plan to return next week. Britney and Jamie were seen boarding a private plane together. A source said: "They're just going away for a few days to relax." Paparazzi photos showed Britney frolicking on Barrigona beach on the Pacific coast in Samara with an unidentified man.

Britney and Mel became friends after the singer was hospitalised in February.
They met up several times but their friendship was only made public in mid-March when they were seen dining together in California. A source at the time revealed: “Mel and his wife Robin clearly saw a woman in crisis and wanted to extend themselves in any way possible. There are no expectations, there is no agenda. "It's simply an act of human kindness - one neighbour reaching out to the other."

Britney Spears' Trainer Impressed With Pop Star's Fitness

BRITNEY SPEARS has left her trainer stunned by her work-out schedule, which has helped her shed 15 pounds ( 6.8 kilograms) in four weeks, the CM reported. Marc Corliss insists the pop superstar is among his best ever clients because she does everything he tells her to do and works out on her own. The pop star has become a regular at Hollywood's Bally's gym, where she often works out with her father Jamie, and Corliss is impressed by her work ethic. He tells America's Life + Style magazine, "She's hell-bent on getting a rocking midsection again.

"She's been training hard for the past four weeks, doing about 500 or so abdominal exercises every day. And she's seeing a major difference already."
Corliss reveals Spears is also doing an hour of interval training, like sprinting mixed with weight training, four days a week. He adds, "She's a real go-getter, super upbeat and fun to be around. She's motivated and positive; she's definitely on the right track. "I'm training her the way I would train an athlete. With her dance background, she's already in better shape than most people." The personal trainer also reveals that Spears likes to workout to her favourite radio shows on pop and hip-hop station 107.2, which often plays her hits.

OK! Exclusive: How Brit Gets Fit!

Driving away from a Bally Total Fitness gym in Culver City, Calif., recently, Britney Spears was smiling from ear to ear — and with good reason. The singer has been sweating up a storm in an attempt to get in shape, and thanks to three-times-a-day workouts and a five-small-meals-a-day diet, Britney, 26, is already on her way to getting back her sexy body.

"We're very excited to see Britney using our clubs so often and enjoying her workouts," Bally's chief marketing officer John Wildman tells OK!. "She's taking advantage of our personal-training and nutritional programs and getting great results. She's working extremely hard on both programs."

Now Brit is working with Bally's trainer Mark Corlis, an insider tells OK!. "She's doing really well with him," the source says. "Mark doesn't cut Britney any slack. He doesn't baby her, and that's why she likes him."

Britney's exercise program is called Active Recovery. That's when you work each muscle group intently for a short period of time until you exhaust it, moving — without resting — from muscle group to muscle group. The mother of two is doing it a couple of times each day, followed by late-night cardio at home.
That final workout is key to Britney's routine because she's burning off her last meal before going to sleep.

The junk-food junkie has also taken a new approach to eating. Her five small meals a day have cut her daily total caloric intake down by about 1,000 calories. The good news? She can still eat many of the foods she loves, including pasta and pizza, but in much smaller portions.

And that's a good thing because OK! has learned that her goal is to go from her current approximate weight of 133 pounds down to 118 over a sensible three months. "Britney carries a lot of muscle, so she is never going to be one of those 100-pound girls," the source tells OK!.

Britney Spears Credits A Steady Diet Of Marlboro Reds For Helping Her Drop Twenty Pounds

We're beginning to think that Larry Rudolph may truly be the master of spinning scandals into gold. Ever since reuniting with her former stardom wizard, Britney Spears has gone from umbrella-swinging, gurney-riding American Tragedy to a slimmed down working girl with vastly improved extensions to boot. Rudolph's latest strategy has been sending Spears to the gym to shed any leftover pounds from her previous diet of lollipops and Cheetos, in addition to making damn well sure she treks to the recording studio. But the news isn't all sunshine and rainbows: it seems tension between Spears and unicorn-rider Neil Patrick Harris, coupled with a return to some bad habits, are threatening the comeback we've been patiently waiting for.

As the Daily Mail reports, Britney may have giggled her way through a treadmill workout in LA last week, but "Britney's hard work may be counter-productive - she was spotted with a packet of Marlboro reds as she left the gym." Reds? Really? Not that we, ahem, smoke or anything, but our friends tell us Reds tend to wreak havoc faster than most cancer sticks. Nevertheless, a giddy cover story in Star claims Spears has shed a whopping 20 pounds since Rudolph put her on the straight and narrow. If only grumpy HIMYM star Neil Patrick Harris would quit whining about her upcoming return to the show, Britney's Comeback Tour could finally progress a bit speedier.

Hot Box: TV worth talking about

Spears Carrier: Britney Spears has been talking about nothing but her March 24 cameo on How I Met Your Mother, an encouraging change from those conversations between the voices in her head. Kidding aside, the tabloid queen earned the CBS sitcom its highest ratings ever, and herself the only positive press she's had since the MTV Awards. People mag says Spears has approached the show about a return engagement, and it's apparently good to go.

You may recall that Alicia Silverstone was originally slated to play Britney's boss but backed out after Britney was hired, leaving the role to Scrubs' (and Canada's own) Sarah Chalke, who very deservedly got rave reviews. Next season both actors will be on ABC as it takes over Scrubs and Silverstone stars in the net's new comedy Bad Mother's Handbook.

Dirty Dancing: Yet another Dancing With the Stars couple has been spotted offstage, paso doble delicto. Partners Shannon Elizabeth and Derek Hough were photographed Thursday, smooching and cuddling on a Malibu beach. It has not gone unnoticed that there's a 12-year age difference between them, with Elizabeth the elder not-quite-cougar. Which means they could double date with fellow spring/summer "showmancers," Milo Ventimiglia and Hayden Panettiere of Heroes. Might I suggest a trip to the mall, followed by dinner for four at Chuck E. Cheese.

Hassles for The Hoff: Being David Hasselhoff isn't all beer and bratwurst (see, he's a big star in Germany, and ... oh, never mind). First, the poor guy is accused of hitting on contestants on America's Got Talent. Last week, he finally settled the terms of his acrimonious divorce from Pamela Bach, losing half of everything he owns, with an additional $25,000 a month in support payments to her and their two teenage daughters (of whom they now share joint custody). It's enough to make anyone turn to drink ... though this apparently has nothing to do with Hasselhoff's checking into the UCLA Medical Center on the weekend: his eye started bleeding profusely on Saturday. No word on the specific cause, but have you noticed the odd absence of crow's feet on the actor's onetime craggy face?

Best Bets

8 p.m. A special Extra Special: Beauty and the Geek Special (it's very special) on Citytv and the CW.

9 p.m. Stick with Citytv or switch to Fox to see Gordon Ramsay send someone to the hospital on Hell's Kitchen.

NBC and E! simulcast Saturday Night Live's Best of Chris Farley.

10 p.m. An "appealing" new Boston Legal on ABC and Global; a murdered money manager (no shortage of suspects there) on Law & Order: SVU, NBC and CTV.

Federline Denies Spears Reunion Reports

Kevin Federline has rebuked reports he is to whisk ex-wife Britney Spears off on a secret Hawaiian getaway in a bid to save their fractured relationship. The former couple has been locked in a bitter divorce and custody battle since splitting in 2006, but Star magazine claimed this week they are set for reconciliation after spending time together over Easter.

A source told the magazine, "Kevin wants to take Britney away to see if there is anything to salvage between them. When he suggested it to her, she told him she was ready to go anytime he was."
However, according to TheCelebrityTruth.com, a representative for Federline insists the reports are "not true."

Madonna speaks out about Britney, hubby and Justin Timberlake's rear

Madonna has spoken out about troubled singer Britney Spears, and revealed she works out to Spears' new album Blackout. "I actually love Britney's new album, she said in an interview with New York radio station Z100 FM. "I usually work out to her record. I do a combination of Pilates and dance aerobics.

"They (the media) need to step off. For real, let's go save her."
Madonna, 49, said her daughter, Lourdes, 11, feels the same way. "She knows Britney, (but) she doesn't really watch TV or read gossip stuff," the pop star said in the interview. "I think she sort of gets the drift of what's going on, and I think she feels very protective of Britney."

Madonna also revealed she will only perform Like A Virgin again for $30 million.
The star, who is set to embark on a tour this autumn, is tired of singing her early hits and has no desire to include them in her set lists. She said: "I'm not sure I can sing Holiday or Like A Virgin ever again. I just can't - unless somebody paid me like $30 million or something. Like if some Russian guy wants me to come to the wedding he's going to have to a 17-year-old, you know it."

The singer, who gave Justin Timberlake a vitamin injection in his butt while they were recording 4 Minutes after he complained of a cold, insists she asked him to drop his trousers for purely professional reasons.
Madonna said: "First of all, I've seen enough butt. The reason I gave him a B-12 shot is because we only had a certain amount of days in the studio and I didn't want him to use that as a lame-a** excuse not to come to work.

"It's got nothing to do with butt. I promise you. Listen, I don't need to give him a shot to see his butt!"
Madonna denied her marriage to director Guy Ritchie is in trouble calling the speculation "ridiculous", but admitted the couple have to work hard at their relationship like everyone else. She said: "We still have to take turns to compromise. It's not easy."

Britney Spears helps US sitcom to highest-ever ratings

A guest appearance from Britney Spears has helped US sitcom How I Met Your Mother to its highest-ever ratings. The Toxic star played a doctor's receptionist in the CBS show as her cameo boosted the show's viewing figures to 10.6 million on Monday night, up from the third season's usual figures of 7.8 million, according to Nielsen Media Research.

How I Met Your Mother, created by Carter Bays and Craig Thomas, sees Ted Mosby telling his children about the events that led up his falling in love with their mother, with Josh Radnor playing the young Ted in flashback while Bob Saget voices scenes featuring Ted as an old man.
And in playing a character with a crush on Ted, Britney also scored highly among US television critics.

The Associated Press news agency commented: "Britney the trainwreck showed how she can still be Britney the performer."
The New York Post newspaper said: "Brit looked slim, (OK she was behind a desk), trim and gorgeous," while the New York Daily News added: "Spears proved she can act every bit as well as she can sing." Despite her career prospects improving Britney's legal troubles have continued, with a judge yesterday dismissing a challenge to the conservatorship ruling that gives the pop star's father control of her assets.

Jon Eardley, an attorney claiming to represent Britney, said she had not been given the requisite five days' notice before control of her estate was transferred to her father James and lawyer Andrew Wallet.
However, US district judge Philip Gutierrez rejected Eardley's appeal as the conservatorship of Britney's affairs remains temporary and Eardley also has no proof that he is the singer's legal representative.

Expert Agrees Britney Case Not Quite Kosher

The attorney who persists in representing Britney Spears, despite having been given instructions to the contrary, is still on the court's case. New York-based lawyer Jon Eardley filed a new batch of documents Monday related to his appeal of the legality of Britney's conservatorship, including a declaration from a UCLA law professor that supports his theory that the 26-year-old pop star never received proper notice—as mandated by state law—that her father was seeking control of her estate.

A Los Angeles Superior Court commissioner named Jamie Spears and attorney Andrew Wallet coconservators of Britney's estimated $100 million fortune on Feb. 1, a day after she was committed to the neuropsychiatric ward at UCLA Medical Center for observation.
Since then, Commissioner Reva Goetz has ruled that Britney was not fit to hire her own counsel and, most recently, allocated a $1,500 weekly spending allowance for the "Toxic" singer and a $2,500-per-week stipend for her dad while he's managing her affairs and authorized Jamie and Wallet to sell some of Britney's cars. The conservatorship has been extended until at least July 31.

Meanwhile, professor William McGovern stated in a declaration filed Monday that Britney should have been personally served notice of the court proceedings occurring while she was in the hospital because her case was not one where the rule of offering at least five days notice did not apply. In Britney's case, she was not facing imminent substantial harm.
Because Britney wasn't notified, due process law dictates that Jamie's heightened status should have been good for no more than 30 days, the declaration says.

Britney's right to pick her own lawyer was infringed upon by the appointment of her father as conservator, which allowed him to restrict and limit her visitors and who she can contact, McGovern continued.
He stated that he arrived at his conclusion after reviewing Goetz's temporary conservatorship order and corresponding documents filed by Jamie and Lynne Spears. After a federal judge refused to remove the case from probate court, Eardley appealed the conservatorship and Jamie's court-ordered allowance on Mar. 11, despite U.S. District Judge Philip Gutierrez's previous finding that he had "no authority" to go to bat for Britney.

Meanwhile, documents released Wednesday shed some light as to why Jamie's camp is looking to liquidate his daughter's vehicular fleet, which includes two white Mercedes, a white Mini Cooper convertible and a black Audi. (View related filings.)
Apparently Britney owns seven rides of various shapes and sizes and unloading the cost of maintaining, insuring and storing the vehicles will "save substantial expenses to the conservatorship estate."

Britney pays £500,000 custody costs

Britney Spears has already spent a million dollars (£500,000) on legal fees in her child custody case and objects to paying half a million dollars to ex-husband Kevin Federline's lawyers, her lawyer has said.

Attorney Stacy Phillips told a Los Angeles court that Federline's lawyers are entitled to only about 150,000 to 175,000 dollars (£75,000-£87,000).

She also says Federline has the ability to pay his lawyers on his own.

Federline's attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan says the case is unusually complicated and all the billing is legitimate.

Commissioner Scott Gordon has not yet ruled on the matter and the hearing is continuing behind closed doors.

Britney Spears Still Under Dad's Control

A Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner extended the conservatorship over Britney Spears' estate until July 31, leaving Spears' father Jamie in control, a court spokesman confirmed on Wednesday (March 6).

Mr. Spears and his attorney have been in charge of Britney's affairs since the court first gave him control on February 1, following her hospitalization - which was her second hospital stay since her January 3 standoff with police at her Beverly Hills home.

Superior court spokesman Allan Parachini informed People.com of the decision saying, "I can confirm that the order was issued this afternoon, but I don't know the attorneys' motives."

Spears seems to have benefited from her father's control, as she has been teaching childrens dance classes at the Millenium Dance Studio for several weeks, and has visited her two sons regularly since she was last released from hospital.

Attorney in Britney Spears case vows to fight on

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - The attorney who claims to represent troubled pop star Britney Spears in the legal wrangling over control of her affairs vowed on Wednesday to continue his fight, one day after a federal judge ruled he is not the singer's lawyer.

Attorney Jon Eardley has said he was hired by Spears on February 12, but a California court had previously appointed conservators to control her personal and business affairs and another attorney to represent Spears.

District Judge Philip Gutierrez on Tuesday ruled the state court's appointment of the attorney precluded Eardley from acting as Spears' lawyer.

Spears was hospitalized twice in January for psychiatric evaluation, and the California state court's ruling occurred while she was not in court.

Eardley claims the state court violated Spears' civil rights by appointing conservators because she was not present. He further argues that her conservators are not acting in her best interest.

"We have only just begun the fight," Eardley said in a statement. "There is nothing that will stop me from dismantling, if necessary, this oppressive and unjust conservatorship."

Spears, 26, has seen her life spin out of control since her breakup with ex-husband Kevin Federline. She has lost custody and visitation rights to their two sons, spent time in rehab and in recent months the Louisiana native has been seen around Los Angeles wearing pink wigs and talking in a British accent.

On February 1, a California court gave the singer's father, Jamie Spears, control over her personal and business affairs through what is known as a conservatorship. An attorney, Andrew Wallet, was named co-conservator, and another lawyer, Samuel Ingham was appointed counsel for Britney.

That conservatorship has been extended on two occasions, and remains in effect until March 10. Judge Gutierrez ruled the case would remain in state court, not federal court as Eardley sought, because Eardley had no authority to move it.

Who's In Charge of Britney Spears's Money?

The trust where Britney Spears keeps most of her estimated $100 million fortune is out of her hands – and under the control of her brother and a lawyer, according to court documents released Thursday. And for 30-year-old Bryan Spears, that means keeping tabs on everything from cash to pay for medicine to money for her Starbucks runs.

Bryan is a co-trustee to his famous sister's SJB revocable trust. According to the trust, which was established in 2004, if Britney stops being a trustee, "then Bryan Spears ... and Ivan Taback [a partner in the personal planning department of the New York-based law firm Proskauer Rose] may act as successor co-trustees under the trust."

The troubled 26-year-old singer, who was recently released from the UCLA Medical Center psych ward, has been stripped of her trustee powers because she is currently considered "legally disabled" by the court, which also extended her father Jamie's co-conservator role until March 10. A court reaffirmed Bryan and Taback’s roles on Thursday.

"This is nothing new," says Bryan Spears. "This was a decision made some time ago and signed off on by Britney, before she was married to Kevin, before she had kids. As with anyone with a large trust, trustees were named. This is nothing new."

So what does it mean to be a trustee? Bryan and Taback have the power to pay for Britney's "continued security, medicine, food, other day-to-day expenses and for psychiatric and other medical services," according to court documents. Neither party can act unilaterally, but require "unanimous consent" with the other trustees to act. The documents also state that the trustees can't sell or lease Britney's home without a court order, nor can they remove any of Britney's property from California.

The trustee appointments were made a week after conservatorship attorneys were granted the right to fire Britney's business manager, Howard Grossman.

Klum Says She Wants to Help Spears

Heidi Klum wants to help Britney Spears. The 34-year-old model says she'd be willing to open her home to Spears while the troubled pop singer puts her life back together.

"She can call me and come live in our house with us for a couple of months," said Klum, a mother of three who is married to the singer Seal and lives in Beverly Hills, Calif. "I would help set her straight."

"I am sorry when a young person gets thrown so off track," Klum said, according to a transcript of an interview that will be aired Monday night by the German broadcaster ARD. "She has, of course, lived an extremely wild life."

After more than a year of bizarre behavior and two stints in a psychiatric hospital this year, Spears was placed under a conservatorship by the Los Angeles County Superior Court commissioner at the beginning of February. Conservatorships are established when a court determines that someone cannot take care of themselves or their affairs.

To hear Klum, the host of Bravo's "Project Runway," describe it, her own life seems like a fairy tale. "I have never been as happy as I am today," Klum said. "I have found the man of my life and we have three great kids. They are all so different and fantastic that it really can't get better than this."

britney spear

The court extended the conservatorship of Britney Spears on Thursday, and took actions intended to give her father and a lawyer access to money in the pop singer's trust to cover her needs. James Spears' temporary control over his daughter's life and estate will continue at least until a hearing on March 10, Superior Court Commissioner Reva Goetz said. At that time, she said, a court-appointed attorney also must submit an evaluation of Britney Spears' medical and psychological condition. There was no mention of her condition since her latest release from a hospital. After more than a year of bizarre behavior in which she divorced Kevin Federline and lost custody of her two young sons, Britney Spears was put in a psychiatric hospital twice in January and has been under a repeatedly extended temporary conservatorship since the beginning of February. Attorney Jeryll Cohen, who represents James Spears, also told Goetz that investigators have spent more than 200 hours trying to locate the singer's sometime companion Sam Lutfi to serve him with a temporary restraining order issued in response to claims that he had taken virtual control of her life and even drugged her.

"We have made great effort to have Mr. Lutfi served," said Cohen. "We staked out his residence at the hospital. We did many things we do not want to discuss right now. We have information he is intentionally avoiding service." Cohen asked that the order be reissued if it is not served in time for Lutfi to obtain counsel and appear for a Feb. 22 hearing. The commissioner agreed and said that when Lutfi does appear, she will order live testimony taken. Goetz also granted a request to expand James Spears' powers as conservator to allow him to handle taxes on Britney Spears' assets and other matters. Among numerous lawyers present were Andrew Wallet, who was appointed with the father as a co-conservator for her estate, and two attorneys representing Britney Spears' brother, Bryan.

Goetz granted an application by a law firm and Bryan Spears to be named temporary co-trustees of a trust established by Britney Spears in order for them to gain access to assets held in it. Documents submitted to the court said Britney Spears set up the trust in 2004 with herself as the sole trustee and "all of Britney's liquid assets are vested in the trust." As a result, the documents said, the co-conservators have been unable to access any liquid assets and her family members, friends and members of her household have been paying for her necessities. "Immediate access to the trust's liquid assets is necessary to pay for Britney's security, and to pay for her medicine, food, other day-to-day expenses, and for psychiatric and other essential medical services," the papers said.

Britney Out, Posh In For 'Spamalot' Song

Britney Spears is out, Posh Spice is in — as a lyric for the Lady in the Lake in the Broadway musical "Monty Python's Spamalot." Asked why the lyric was changed in the song "Diva's Lament," "Spamalot" author Eric Idle said Tuesday in an e-mail:

"Because we don't laugh at sad people. Mike Nichols (the show's director) requested it and he's right. We changed the lyrics in London, on tour, on Broadway and in Las Vegas. We think that it's now too sad. Britney Spears is being tortured to death and we don't want to be on that side." The changes went into the various companies last week.

What the Lady in the Lady (currently played on Broadway by Hannah Waddingham) once sang:

"I am sick of my career

Always stuck in second gear
Up to here with frustration and with fears
I've no Grammy no rewards
I've no Tony Awards
I'm constantly replaced by Britney Spears
Britney Spears!"

It's been replaced by:

"My love life is a mess

I've got constant PMS
My career is about as hot as ice
They hate me there backstage
They say I'm too old for my age
They're trying to replace me with Posh Spice
With Posh Spice!!"

Delta Burke Joins Britney Spears as Celebrities Are Being Checked in to the Psych Ward

Just when I thought I had enough of hearing about Britney Spear's problems and the fact that, not only was she checked into the psychiatric ward "America's Analyst" Dr. Phil had his own regrets over the fact that those in Britney's camp were coming after him for trying to capitalize off of her illness I now hear that Delta Burke has checked herself into the hospital. This comes as a shock to me because I have known for Delta Burke for anything but erratic or eccentric behavior; as one of the cast of "Designing Women" she went on to have her own self-titled sitcom in 1992, Delta.

What most may not know, is that Delta Burke went on record on the Barbara Walters show discussing the drama behind the scenes of the cast of "Designing Women" and was let out of her contract early, and also suffered from issues over weight gain and type-2 diabetes. In fact her struggles with depression and obsessive-compulsive disorder seem to mirror that of Sally Brampton, a British actress who has also checked herself into the psychiatric ward, and suffered from failed suicide attempts as well as the side effects of such drugs as Venlafaxine and Lithium. She has written a book "Shoot the Damn Dog", detailing her journey.

Justin Chambers has checked himself into a hospital earlier this week. Of course if you actually watch "Grey's Anatomy" on a regular basis, it wouldn't really come as a surprise to anyone because he plays a neurotic character on the show that well. He is in the same hospital that Britney was being held at. Speaking of Britney, you're hard pressed to find information on anyone other than her when it comes to having been admitted to a psychiatric hospital, which is sad, because it happens a lot more often than anyone is really willing to admit, and a lot more people out there really need help than we'll ever be willing to admit.
